Hats, hats, and more hats!

I've been a bit busy but hopefully I will be on here more regularly. I've been making hats! Here are some that I've made...

I'm making another Owl Hat, this one is for my niece. The previous one was for a friend that is expecting, and the monster hat was commissioned for a dear friend's son. I made Elena a Gator hat and scarf, featured above on her.

Bracelets

I made five bracelets yesterday for some of my 'little people' friends. On three of them I chained 25 and used the DC stitch, I sewed a button on to use to close the bracelet. On the other two I chained 30, used the TC stitch, and used a button as well. I used cotton yarn for mine, but really you could use any, an E-hook worked perfectly to make small close stitches. I crochet very tightly! So if your stitches are more loose you may want to go down a size
. They turned out so cute, the girls loved them! They're simple to make, you can use bright colors, and little ones will get much enjoyment out of them. :)

We're back!

I know it's been a while since Kaila or I wrote on here. Sorry for the absence. We've had a lot of things going on this summer and it's occupied our time. We're back now though. School's started for a lot of people, and things are winding down.
I'm currently working on some projects. My number 1. project at the moment is finishing 4, yes I said 4,  Loop Baby Rattle Grab Toys.  They are so cute, and simple to make. I found a link to the pattern on one of our top favorite blogs http://allaboutami.tumblr.com/day/2012/08/28. She made one as well. I have the first two small loops finished, now I'm working on the big loop that the smaller loops will hang on. I'm going to insert only one bell and see how it sounds. I'm also busy crocheting a blanket, a bunny rabbit (for my niece for Christmas), and I have orders in to make some cotton washcloths. My times going to be occupied for a bit to say the least. I'll try to update with pictures and such along the way. Hope you all are having a nice start to Fall.

Tuesday..

I know we haven't written anything big lately. Well just to keep you up to date on what we've been working on and finished, last week Rebecca finished a baby blanket, we finished hotpads, I'm almost done with the Casserole Tote (It looks great btw), Rebecca is working on a ripple afghan so that she can work on Tea Cozies (which are in high demand apparantly), we're both reading as much as we can because we are part of a book club that we're trying to keep up with, we're also crocheting a few things for Elena's baby doll, something fun to do on the side. Between all of that we also have been baking, making home-made cleaners, cleaning, and keeping God in every part of our lives. Hope all is well with you all.

Tea Cozies

I'm going to be making some Tea Cozies here pretty soon. I found a great pattern that I like very much. First though I have to practice my Ripple pattern! Be patient with me, I'll start them as soon as I feel comfortable with the Ripple pattern. I'll post pics along the way.

Here is the link to the pattern I'll be using for the Tea Cozies! I won't be doing them in these colors though, one will be Blue (haven't decided on two shades of blue or blue and white, or all three! What's your opinion?) the other will be a speckled brown and white. Can't wait!

Craft stores

The Bamboo Yarn looks cool, and feels extra soft

This is our favorite yarn! It's very easy to work with and makes excellent dishcloths.

We think this would be cool to try out.
It looks so funky, lol.

We have a lot of fun going to different craft stores and looking at the different yarns, sales, ect. So far our favorite place to get yarn is AC Moore, they always have great deals. Also they usually undercut all of the other stores in our area. They had yarn yesterday we picked up for a dollar a skein. Can't beat that really. What's your favorite yarn? What's your favorite craft store?

May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us-yes, establish the work of our hands.

Wip bag

Wip bag in progress.

The Wip Bag

I was browsing through one of my favorite blogger's patterns and found this. It would be a great bag to keep all of our yarn in. I'm going to begin working on this and will document my progress. Wish me luck!
